Hi! I’m Marie. I’m a 31 year old self taught pastry cook from Copenhagen.
This crazy trip down sugary lane started as a fun little hobby while I was on maternity leave 3 years ago with my son. Honestly I was bored out of my mind and then I randomly stumbled across a pastry chef on Instagram and fell down the rabbit hole of desserts that were, well, more than sweet.. Through her I started following more and more pastry chefs and slowly started to bake when my son was sleeping. Through lots of trial and error I slowly got better at both technique and combining flavours.
Around that time, I also started working part time at a local ice cream shop run by probably the most knowledgeable person when it comes to fat globules, sugar molecules and everything that makes ice cream feel and taste luxurious, Catherine Østerberg. From then it was onto the pastries, ice cream bars and other goodies at the coffee shop where I take my baby girl and coffee mascot with me to work several days a week.
This blog is where I post the desserts I make at home and where I can experiment more freely with recipes and flavours. I hope you will enjoy them as much as I do.
